وصف الكتاب
Beyond Milestones: The Journey through Life is a heartwarming dialogue between grandfather, Surinder Rametra and grandson, Akash Wasil, aiming to impart a few of his life experiences, that turned out to be a joint effort, covering deep-rooted philosophy of life, guided by the inner core. Profound in its feeling, Surinder shares his spiritual and interpersonal life-learnings, through time and place that has long changed beyond recognition by what the world call progress. Movingly written the book evokes nostalgia. The author takes him through his childhood, family experiences and affections. He creates in microcosm the essence of Indian village life: its traditions, ceremonies, passage of time, cycle of change and the struggle as his circumstances changed. Knowing well that today's generation is exceptionally intellectual, progressive and logical, Rametra successfully motivated Akash to co-author the book. Akash professes that there are fundamental differences between the values of today's youth and those of the older generations. He hopes to explore these differences, analyze the opposing viewpoints, and thus develop a deeper understanding of these ethical ideas and issues. Akash, in turn, helped his grandfather provide a different outlook in an attempt to bridge the current ongoing drift of social and cultural gap. The essential message that Rametra wants to share with Akash and others of his age is, 'Life itself is a journey. At each cross-section, new people join the journey and a few may drop out; but the journey continues.'
