Shivi was born in Trinidad and she has made it her culinary mission to twist the classic Caribbean dishes and ingredients from her childhood into her own vibrant, fresh and easy-to-make recipes.As the resident Chef on ITV’s Weekend Best, Shivi cooks every Saturday morning alongside Martin and Roman Kemp, sharing clever tricks along the way to make cooking easier and waste-free. She is a regular guest chef on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen and will be presenting an episode in October. She has also co-presented Weekend Best with Roman, when Martin was isolating. She has also showcased her recipes on ITV’s This Morning, Channel 4’s Packed Lunch and Sunday Brunch.The author of two cookbooks, Caribbean Modern: Recipes from the Rum Islands (2015); and The Ice Kitchen: Fast Fresh Food to Fill Your Family And Your Freezer (2020), Shivi regularly writes for food publications, like BBC Good Food magazine, Delicious, and has appeared in The Sunday Times, The Telegraph and other publications.
