I'm so surprised at how well this book has been received and have read some very touching letters from people who have either bought or received a copy for different reasons. I had no idea that a pop-up book could generate such emotion! Thank you!! My follow up to "Paper Blossoms - A Book of Beautiful Bouquets for the Table" is "Paper Blossoms, Butterflies, and Birds." I became fascinated with pop-up books back in 1979 whilst working as an art director in a London advertising agency. I contacted my illustrator friend Korky Paul and asked him if he would be interested in working on a pop-up book with me. Fortunately he said yes. That book, The Crocodile and the Dumpertruck was the first of 24 interactive books for children that I designed between then and 1990. I took a "short break" from pop-ups between 1991 and 2005 running my own graphic design business. It was only a matter of time before my family convinced me to return to pop-up books and so after some brain-storming and distractions the Castaway Pirates appeared.
