About the Author: Robin Vicary went on a short story course at the City University in 2017 taught by Katy Darby, and left determined to write a novel. It journeys through 18th-century Rome, with David Livingstone across southern Africa in the 19th century, ending in London and Florence in the 20th century. • ‘How the Light Shines’ (2022) – a novel of diamonds, romance and espionage set in 1930s South Africa and England, published by The Conrad Press. Robin lives with his family in North London, where he was previously a gastroenterologist.
