The Samyang 14mm T3.1 Lens was developed primarily for film and video applications. The cine version of Samyang's 14mm lens features industry-standard gearing for the focus and aperture ring, and the aperture ring has been "declicked" for smooth iris pulls. The aperture and focus scales have also been relocated to the side of the lens, where it is easier for focus pullers to read them.
The Samyang 14mm cine lens is compatible with full-frame sensors, and produces a 115 degree ultra-wide angle-of-view. The optical construction is comprised of hybrid aspherical lenses which render sharply defined images with a minimum of distortion and chromatic aberrations. The 14mm also features Ultra Multi Coated (UMC) lenses for improved light transmission and resistance to ghosting and flares.
This Samyang lens has an optical design of 14 lenses in 10 groups. It includes a hybrid aspherical lens, an aspherical glass lens, 3 extra low dispersion lenses and 3 high-refractive lenses. The aspherical glass lens and hybrid aspherical lens minimize color aberration to deliver high contrast and exceptional image quality even when the aperture is fully opened. The extra low dispersion lenses prevent flaring and ghost by effectively controlling light dispersion. Furthermore, the Ultra Multi Coating technology also minimizes flare and ghost by optimizing the light penetration.
This lens for MFT is made from high-strength aluminum allow that offers excellent strength to survive tough conditions. With this lens, you can capture accurate images even under inferior environment. Thanks to its compact construction, this lens is your perfect travel companion. Furthermore, the attached petal-shaped lens hood provides shelter to the lens for blocking unnecessary lights. This Samyang VDSLR II lens has an uncoupled aperture gear ring that lets you change the aperture smoothly and quietly.
