A certain future classic, and without a doubt my absolute new favourite picture book. (LiteraryLoves) The joy of this books is in the detail... each stylish spread contains lots to look and laugh at. Beautifully depicts our traditions and our relationship with the Royal Family... brilliant. (Rhino Reads) I absolutely adored this book... perfectly executed with style and grace... captures London perfectly. This is a story for all generations and a brilliant, British book to boot. It's almost beyond words... every British household needs a copy, whether or not you're George's, William's or Charles's generation. * * * * * (Bookbag) An awesome adventure. A wonderful romp of a read that's a great introduction to London, royalty and all that makes Britain great. About the Author
After taking redundancy in 2010 from a Swindon call-centre, Steve decided to pursue his life-long dream of becoming a writer-illustrator by applying for place on the prestigious Children's Book Illustration MA course at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. His 2014 debut, THE QUEEN'S HAT, won the Oscar's First Book Prize and was shortlisted for a clutch of awards, including the Waterstones Children's Book Prize. Steve's Shaun the Sheep sculpture based on THE QUEEN'S HAT raised £15,000.00 for the Wallace and Gromit Children's Charity, and the book was adapted into a concert by the London Synphony Orchestra. PLEASE MR PANDA was was a London Times Pick of the Week and a Barnes & Noble Book of the Month. PLEASE MR PANDA was simultaneously read in 645 Barnes & Noble stores across the States on Jan 10th 2015. Steve's books, which also include the BETTY GOES BANANAS books, GREEN LIZARDS VS RED RECTANGLES and MONSTER IN THE HOOD, explore themes ranging from 'saying please' to the futility of war and have been translated into several languages. Steve uses graphite, soft pencils and Photoshop for colouring. He normally sticks to a limited pallet, in part because of his red-green colourblindness.
