Book Description
The trunk of the palm tree to which his body was tied rose towards the sky. A sinful man laden with shame, not seeking salvation The trunk of the palm tree to which his body was tied rose towards the sky. A sinful man laden with shame, not seeking salvation for himself or others. He gazed from above his cross at a land where he wished to see the traces of his feet, but his feet hung in the air, and above him was a sky where there was no place for him, after he became cursed by the testimony of everyone, Muslims, Christians, Sunnis, Shiites, Romans and Copts. He lived his life wearing the garment of doubt, and today he dies with one certainty, that life is in vain and not worth living, and man in this life is like a shadow, so is there a trace of a shadow? This novel is not just a text that tells about a critical period in Egypt's history, characterized by national, sectarian and ethnic conflict at the end of the Fatimid state, but rather a comprehensive human experience in the search for identity among dozens of affiliations that divide it. A new journey by the writer Osama Abdel Raouf El Shazly about the concepts of identity, homeland, and belonging, and a new story from the pages of the past that casts its shadow on the present.
